About This Site...
With all the poker sites out
there these days, and soooo many different ways to play, I thought
I'd share what I've learned about how to host poker nights in a
friendly, simple, understandable way. After all, there is
a big difference between casino and competition poker versus
friendly poker, and getting a good night together can be tough!
As for me, I've been
hosting poker nights with various groups of friends for several
years now - and yes, I'm proud to say that I started before
the huge upswing in poker popularity. I started not knowing
much, but picked up games from various friends, some websites,
etc. I learned early the need for a nice set of poker chips
- believe it or not, they actually help motivate poker nights in
the first place - and they add a great deal to the physical
satisfaction of playing. Anyway, that's why we're here!
Dave's Guide to Poker
Night is also the second in what I hope will become a series of
instructional websites I plan to publish. Dave's
Guide to Speechwriting
is already out there - check it out!
Of course, this resource is by no
means complete - it's always growing and changing! If you
feel something is missing, or incorrect, or you'd just like to add
your two cents, definitely feel free to write me at dave@davegustafson.com.
I hope to hear from you!
